Framework announced its latest Framework Laptop 13 with support for Intel Core Ultra processors and an optional 13.5-inch 2.8K high refresh rate display. The systems are available for preorder now with prices starting at $1099, and they will begin shipping to customers in August.
“We designed Framework Laptop 13 to last, and we’re eager to make it better each year,” the Framework team writes in the announcement post. “We’ve upgraded nearly every part since first shipping in 2021, and we read through press reviews and feedback constantly to find ways to improve it further. Our focus this year is on refining the end-to-end experience for both current and new customers, making this the ideal laptop for Linux in addition to Windows, and enabling businesses to enter the world of repairable, customizable computing. We’ve also revamped our software pipeline, with new firmware and driver releases now landing regularly for each product.”

For its fourth Framework Laptop 13 with Intel processors, Framework redesigned its thermal system to keep the PC cooler while reducing fan noise, added 2.8K display (2880 x 1920 resolution with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of brightness) 9.2 MP webcam options, and created configurations for businesses and professionals with a 3-year warranty.
You can configure systems with an Intel Core Ultra 5 125H, 7 155H, or 7 165H processor; 8, 16, 32, or 64 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM; 250 GB, 500 GB, 1 TB, 2 TB, or 4 TB of NVMe M.2 SSD storage, and the usual bevy of Framework expansion cards. The standard display is a 13.5-inch matte panel with a resolution of 2256 x 1504 at 60 Hz, and Framework notes that the optional 2.8K display has rounded corners, an “oddity” that might look odd to some in the squared off Framework frame.
Framework is also introducing new configurations of the Framework Laptop 13 DIY Edition with AMD Ryzen 7040 series 30 processors that can also be configured with the new display and webcam. And it is lowering the price of its existing Ryzen 7040 series configurations and 13th Gen Intel Core-based systems, with prices now starting at $949 for pre-built systems and $799 for DIY Edition.
You can configure a new system on the Framework Laptop 13 website.
