Samsung detailed today its plans to expand its One UI 8 beta program to older Galaxy devices. The company’s latest software overlay was first made available on the new Galaxy Z Flip7 and Fold 7 released last month, but Samsung will gradually bring it to more devices starting in September.

Samsung’s One UI 8 is based on Android 16, and it was previously made available in beta for Galaxy S25 series devices in Germany, Korea, the UK, and the US. Starting next week, the software overlay will also be available in beta on Galaxy S24, Z Fold6, and Z Flip6 devices in India, Korea, the UK, and the U.S.

“The beta program is planned for roll out to even more devices in the following month including Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold5 and Z Flip5, Tab S10 series, Galaxy A36 5G and Galaxy A35 5G,” the company said today. One UI 8 introduces a refined look and new AI-powered features providing more contextual help and proactive suggestions. The Now Bar introduced in One UI 7 has also been improved with direct access to playing music, live notifications, and more.

The company’s One UI 8 Watch interface, which first launched on the new Galaxy Watch 8 lineup, will also progressively roll out to previous Galaxy Watch models later this year. “This update will deliver motivational health features and a more refined, intuitive interface to an even broader range of Galaxy users,” Samsung emphasized today.
