HP Brings AI to its Consumer PCs

HP today announced new entries in its Envy and Pavilion laptops and now boasts the broadest consumer portfolio of AI-enhanced laptops in the market.

“These devices are designed to unlock your creativity and productivity with the latest AI capabilities for the most personalized experiences yet,” an HP representative told me.

Here’s what’s new.

Improvements across new Envy and Pavilion products. All of the new PCs provide AI-accelerated Intel Core Ultra or AMD Ryzen processors; HP Smart Sense technologies that automatically optimize fan noise, temperature, and performance tailored to your workflow; a dedicated Copilot key on the keyboards; audio tuning by Poly with Poly Studio; up to a 5MP camera, and ENERGY STAR certification. And all the new Pavilion laptops have 16:10 display panels.

HP Pavilion Aero 13. This new 13.3-inch laptop is billed as the world’s lightest AI-enhanced consumer laptop, at less than 2.2 pounds. It features a lightweight recycled magnesium-aluminum body, the latest AMD Ryzen processors, up to 12 hours of battery life, a 2.5K resolution WQXGA display, a manual camera shutter, and Windows Hello facial recognition. It will ship in May at HP.com for a starting price of $799.99.

HP Pavilion 16. This laptop features a brilliant OLED display option, a larger precision touchpad and backlit keyboard, optional NVIDIA graphics on Intel models or an IMAX Enhanced Certified OLED display, an optional Full HD IR camera, and up to 19 hours of battery life. It will be available in April at HP.com, BestBuy.com, Amazon.com, and Costco, and prices start at $799.99.

HP Envy x360 14/16. This new 2-in-1 laptop is available in 14- and 16-inch sizes with Intel or AMD Ryzen processors. They offer up to 17 hours of battery life, upgraded keyboards and touchpads, and an optional 2.8K OLED display with IMAX Enhanced certification. They will arrive at HP.com and BestBuy.com in March, with pricing on the 14-inch models starting at $949.99 while the 16-inch models start at $859.99.

HP Envy 17. This new 17.3-inch laptop PC delivers up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPUs, up to 9 hours of battery life, a larger touchpad, backlit keys on the keyboard, AI-enabled presence sensing technology, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, Thunderbolt 4, and USB-C charging. It will ship in March at HP.com and BestBuy.com, with prices starting at $1,299.99.
