Samsung’s new One UI 8.5 software, which first shipped on the Galaxy S26 series in February 2026, is now rolling out to older premium Galaxy phones. The global rollout started in Korea yesterday, with more regions to follow soon.

“The update focuses on enhancing communication and creative experiences on Galaxy mobile phones and tablets, including the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Tab S11 series and Galaxy Tab S10 series,” Samsung said in the announcement.

In the US, One UI 8.5 was previously made available in beta in December on the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold7, and Galaxy Z Flip7. Support for more devices came in March, and AirDrop support via Quick Share was added at the same time.

In addition to AirDrop support, One UI 8.5 also enables Quick Share to recognize people in photos and proactively suggest sending pictures to these contacts. One UI 8.5 also introduces an updated Photo Assist experience that allows users to do multiple edits with AI in a row and review all changes in edit history.

Lastly, the new software update improves device connectivity with Storage Share, which will display files from other Galaxy tablets and PCs in the My Files app. Phone files can also be accessed from other Samsung devices, including select smart TVs. However, the feature requires each device to be signed in to the same Samsung account and have both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on.
