OxygenOS 5.1.9 Aimed at Improving OnePlus 6 Camera Quality

A coming update to the OnePlus 6 is aimed at improving various the device’s camera experience. This is particularly interesting to me as I just reviewed the OnePlus 6, and if I could improve one thing, it’d be the camera.

I’m getting an error when I try to view the OnePlus forum post that describes this update. But many have already reported on it, and it looks like OxygenOS 5.1.9 will include the following improvement to OnePlus’ camera app:

 • Google Lens integration
 • Improved edge detection for portrait mode
 • Improved photo clarity
 • Improved dynamic range
 • Faster and more accurate focusing

In my review of the OnePlus 6, I noted that the camera quality was “very good,” but not excellent, and not up to the quality we see in the Google Pixel 2 XL.

OxygenOS 5.1.9 will apparently rollout later today. I’m looking forward to this one.

I just bought the red one plus 6 so very much looking forward to this, what seems to be a major update. I too, think the camera is very good for the "price" As with all products, always something better that of course costs more. Bottom line is it a good camera that takes good pictures for the price of the phone? Answer Yes. Is the Honda a good car? Yes but not as good as the BMW. Oh ok well darn I was going to buy the Honda but I guess I won't now

I brought a OnePlus 5 last year. On of the big thing was the good camera. Kiss my ass. The camera on OnePlus 5 is the worst camera I ever had on a mobil. (Well all my previous mobile has been Lumia's so that may be the reason.) But to film i 4K on OnePlus 5 and tri to use it together with other footage from other cams, is right down not doable. I did it all the time with my Lumia 950XL.

Well, I finally got it but it didn't fix the lousy video zoom or panorama feature. Google Lens looks like a completely useless gimmick, or am I missing something?
