Android P Is Almost Ready

Google Releases Android P Beta 2

It’s that time of the year: a major Android update is around the corner. Google today released the 4th beta update for Android P today, bringing us a step closer to the official Android P release.

Google is encouraging developers to use the final preview of the OS update to test their apps and publish any necessary updates. “Beta 4 is the last preview milestone before we launch the official Android P platform later this summer. Take this opportunity to test your apps and publish updates, to make sure you offer a great experience for users transitioning to Android P,” said Google’s Dave Burke in a blog post. Google has already finalized the APIs for Android P before, which means developers can get to start optimizing their apps for the new update.

Google is yet to announce a release date for Android P, including the actual the name of the update. The final name of new Android updates are always an exciting (and annoying) phase of the release every year, and Android P isn’t any different.
In reply to Cdorf:

Forget it, Samsung will drop support to the S8 when Android P will get out so they won`t have to update the phone OS in summer 2019. 🙂

My Pixel XL2 has been running well on the previous beta, but had a few momentary lock-ups, but overall I am happy.
