Unlocked Lumia 950 XL Now Available For Preorder from Microsoft Store

Hot on the heels of today’s announcement from AT&T about the Lumia 950 shipping this week, the Microsoft Store is now offering the phablet-class Lumia 950 XL for preorder as well. The device will allegedly ship by November 25.

There are a number of differences between AT&T’s Lumia 950 offer and the Microsoft Store’s 950 XL (aside from the phone differences, that is). These include:

The Lumia 950 XL is shipping later. Microsoft says November 25, but I bet it’s after that. I had heard it might be well into December before this device shipped.

Microsoft’s phones are unlocked. AT&T isn’t yet offering an unlocked Lumia 950, but you can order a Lumia 950 XL (and, soon, a Lumia 95) from Microsoft in unlocked form.

The Lumia 950 XL comes with a free Continuum dock. If you order quickly, you’re eligible for a free Microsoft Display Dock with any purchase of the Lumia 950 XL, using the Lumia Offers app on the phone.

The Lumia 950 XL is more expensive. We already knew this, but the Lumia 950 XL will set you back $650, compared to $550 for the Lumia 950.

As with the Lumia 950 on AT&T, Microsoft’s unlocked Lumia 950 XL comes in both matte white and matte black options. If you’re in the market for this phone, act quickly: I suspect supplies are limited.
