Spotify says the new home screen will allow users to get access to their favorite content — which includes podcasts — from the dedicated space at the top. The app will provide 6 recommendations based on your listening habits, and they will change throughout the day.

And then the new home screen will also include Spotify’s Made For You playlists, Top Podcasts, recommendations based on your listening habits, and more. “All in, the new Spotify Home does the hard work for you, making it easier than ever to find something to listen to—whether a long-time favorite or brand-new discovery,” says the company.

The new Spotify home screen is available this week.

After spotify started injecting spoken news into my daily drive playlist I discovered that there is no way to exclude non music content from their app. I use pocketcasts for my spoken word needs as in podcasts so this was what was needed for me to stop paying for spotify for the first time since they launched in Australia. I pay to listen to music not podcasts.
