Apple Music Classical iOS App is Coming on March 28

Apple is getting ready to launch a standalone Apple Music Classical app on iOS. The new app is available for “pre-order” on the App Store ahead of its March 28 release, and it will let Apple Music subscribers enjoy what the company claims is “the world’s largest classical music catalog” at no additional cost.
The Apple Music Classical app has been designed specifically for classical music, a genre that can have its own metadata issues. That’s why the app will have a search feature that’s optimized for classical music and dedicated pages for composers and the most popular recordings of their work.

Apple Music Classical will also offer the highest audio quality available (up to 192 kHz/24-bit Hi-Res Lossless), and some recordings will also support spatial audio. The latter remains one of the few distinctive features of Apple Music.
As of this writing, there’s no word on an Apple Music Classical app for iPad, Mac, or Android. The iPhone app will require iOS 15.4 or newer, and you can pre-order it here.
