Netflix on TV Now Shows The Full List of Available Languages for Any Content

Netflix available languages

Netflix is making its TV experience more multilingual. Starting today, the Netflix app on your TV will show the full list of available languages for all movies and TV shows on the platform.

Netflix said today that it has been a top-requested feature, with the company receiving “thousands of language availability requests per month.” The company is also aware that many of its subscribers are using Netflix to learn foreign languages.

This new TV experience will mirror how Netflix already works on the web and mobile devices, where users can browse the full list of subtitles and dubbing for the content they’re watching. You can see the Netflix TV app showing the full list of available languages for a specific title in the video below:

Netflix said today that its content library includes “a wide variety of TV shows and movies in over 30 languages.” The company also said that “nearly a third” of all viewing on the platform is for non-English stories.

While the company agrees that subtitles and dubbing are a key selling point today, Amazon is currently pushing ahead with AI-powered dubbing for select movies and series. It will be interesting to see if Netflix ends up going down the same route to make its content even more accessible for its audience.
