Apple TV+ Gets a Price Increase in the US and Other Markets

Apple is raising the price of its Apple TV+ service in the US and other international markets today. The streaming service is going from $9.99/month to $12.99/month in the US, though the annual $99 price remains unchanged. There’s also no price increase for consumers using Apple TV+ via an Apple One subscription.

In a statement shared with 9to5Mac, Apple said that its streaming service has continued to add new content since launch, adding that its Apple One services bundle remains “the easiest way to enjoy all of Apple’s subscription services in one plan at the best value.”

Apple TV+ originally launched at $4.99/month back in November 2019, making it one of the cheapest subscription services on the market. The monthly plan later increased to $6.99 in October 2022, and then to $9.99 a year later.

Overall, Apple TV+ offers far less content than Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, but the company deserves credit for focusing on quality. The service is also completely ad-free and is now available on all platforms, including Android phones.

Last month, the company was proud to announce that its exclusive content received 81 Emmy Award nominations, with its hit show Severance scoring 27 nominations for its second season. “To date, Apple Original films, documentaries, and series have earned 580 wins and 2,761 award nominations and counting, including multi-Emmy Award-winning comedy Ted Lasso and historic Oscar Best Picture winner CODA,” the company also emphasized.

If you’re an Apple TV+ subscriber, this latest price increase will apply after the next renewal date. Let us know in the comments if the service still remains good value at $12.99/month.
