Spotify has started notifying Premium subscribers in the US that their subscription will cost $1 more per month starting in February 2026. The price of Spotify Premium will go from $11.99 to $12.99/month, and this is the first price hike in the country since July 2024.

“Thank you for being a valued Premium subscriber. Starting on your billing date in February, your subscription price will change from $11.99/month to $12.99/month. We’re updating our pricing to keep delivering a great experience,” the company said in its email to subscribers (via Music Business Worldwide).

In addition to the US, Spotify Premium is also getting more expensive in Estonia and Latvia. Last year, Spotify already raised prices in various markets across South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region.

While price hikes are never good news, Spotify did add several features to its Premium subscription in recent months, with the addition of lossless streaming, music videos, AI-generated audiobook recaps, and more. The company also improved its free offering last fall by dropping the Shuffle playback restriction on mobile devices.
