Spotify Launches New Running Mode for Premium Users in Select Markets

Spotify Running Mode

Spotify is launching today a new Running Mode for Premium users in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, and Sweden. The new experience is only available on iOS at launch, and it lets iPhone users create custom playlists tailored for their running sessions, with optional audio cues to keep them motivated along the way.

“Since we first introduced Prompted Playlists, fitness-based prompts have been some of the feature’s most popular uses, reflecting a growing demand for more personalized workout experiences. Running Mode is the next step, creating a running experience powered by your goals and the music you love, so every run feels more energizing and uniquely yours,” the team explained today.

The new Running mode is available from the Fitness hub Spotify introduced in April. Here, Premium users in supported markets can find a selection of curated running presets that they’ll be able to customize based on the type of music they want to listen to and the characteristics of their workout session.
