Netflix is Raising its Prices in the UK

Netflix has just raised the price of all of its plans in the UK, with the ad-supported plan now priced at £7.99/month. As reported by Deadline, this is the second Netflix price bump in the country this year, following a previous increase in February.

If you’re in the UK, the two Netflix Standard plans are now £1 more expensive, while Netflix Premium, which unlocks 4K and HDR/Dolby Vision quality on up to 4 screens, now costs an extra £2. The price increases went into effect yesterday for new subscribers, with current ones to be impacted on their next billing cycle:

Here’s Netflix’s new pricing structure in the UK:

• Netflix Standard with Ads: £7.99/month (previously £5.99)
• Netflix Standard: £13.99 (previously £12.99)
• Netflix Premium: £20.99 (previously £18.99)

Speaking with Deadline, a Netflix spokesperson said that the price hikes “reflect improvements to our wide range of entertainment and the quality of our service,” adding that “as we deliver more value to our members, we reinvest in quality entertainment and improve their experience by updating our prices.”
