In reply to zvonimirm:

That requires us to host the video on a separate platform…which is not currently in the cards as of today; unless you know of a way to do this with YouTube?

I have to wonder if the Pixel 2 XL issues aren't blown out of proportion… if there weren't a few hardware issues at launch that people saw from folks who took to the internet talking about it, and now we're shining a spotlight on every issue that crops up when for any other phone a user would just call Google and have it replaced. Just a thought.

I really wanted to like the Pixel 2s cause I loved my first gen Pixel, but the little Pixel's big bezel design is dated and the XL is way too big. I picked up an Essential PH-1 and I love it. Camera isn't great, but not a concern for me, and the pace of software updates is second to none, including the Pixel.

Hoping that with the Pixel 3's I find a reason to go back, but for now I'm loving my no-bezel, perfect sized phone.

In reply to ReformedCtrlZ:

I agree, the issues are being blown out of proportion. But I also agree with Paul, the Pixel 2 XL is not for everyone. For me, the guaranteed software updates, the front facing speakers, the original quality photo and video storage and the reduced bezel size were key requirements and the 2 XL met all those, so I upgraded from the original XL. Would I be happier if the display were better? Yes. But is it unusable as-is? Not to me.

Paul,

Great to hear you'll be doing more reviews! Please tell me you're going to review Lenovo's Star Wars: Jedi Challenges? I'm curious what you thought of the experience, and which phone you used with the device.

Looking forward to the changes at Thurrott.com!
