There is a reason no one had heard of the Sony / Microsoft deal. It's was done in haste due to the Stadia announcement. This is no consortium. This was an oh shit, we're going to have to team up to keep Google from killing us. We don't have a good streaming story. It's like how Apple hates Qualcomm but realized Intel was not going to get them 5g do they had to go back to them. The last thing we need is every company (ID, valve, bungeeand so on, having their own streaming system.

I agree with the "Premium" guy. Sony execs are very shrewd business people. I doubt that this is a Kumbaya gesture on Sony's part. It's like Amazon using Windows to implant Alexa to it.

In reply to Bats:

I actually agree. MS think themselves too clever – the Japanese are shrewd, and I'm sure this will be more of a benefit for Sony than MS in the long run. I think Nadella's problem is he cannot see anything beyond his beloved Azure cloud – literally nothing else matters to him, which is a big gamble.

Maybe they are going to make it that both platforms can play each other where games are the same.

In reply to Siv:

This is what I was thinking too. What a massive advantage over the competition.
