    <p>The most interesting part of this were the comments about anticipation. Google "power of anticipation". There is a lot of research that shows its power and suggests that anticipation makes us happy.</p><p><br></p><p>I find that it's better for me to think about anticipation *before* I buy something new and shiny. It lets me avoid the letdown of reality and enjoy the purchases that I really want and need.</p>

      That’s a smart way to go about things. I suspect it eludes most people. I’m obviously aware of such a thing even if I didn’t have a name for it, but can still fall for it.
