  <p>My question, is are they finally going to eliminate the control panel? The new settings screen looks more consistent and nearly everything there now.</p>

  <p>No, but that doesn’t matter. No one sees the Control Panel unless they’re looking for it. And if you’re looking for it, you need it.</p>

  <p>Count me among the people who isn’t enamored with Panos Panay at all. I remember hearing Paul discuss rumors that Panos was possibly moving to Apple on a previous episode of Windows Weekly and that it seemed almost inconceivable to him. I think it’s obvious that he’d fit in perfectly with Apple’s corporate culture. He’s previously said that he prefers living in California to Washington, is highly appearance-conscious and frequently flaunts his connections in Hollywood, is enamored with secrecy and showmanship and much prefers speaking in front of large crowds as opposed to the isolation that COVID required, and (in my opinion) is condescending and smarmy. The fact that ongoing Windows development and it’s relationship with the public is seems to be evolving the way it has been under his leadership is completely unsurprising.</p>
