Picks and tips

Tip of the week: With Anniversary update coming, the Windows 10 tips heat up

I’m updating Windows 10 Field Guide for the Anniversary update. Here are some new tips!

Plus: My OK transition to Microsoft Edge

AppRaisin mobile app pick of the week: Wells Fargo

Also: Steam app for Windows phones. But Amazon is gone!

Enterprise pick of the week: .NET Core 1.0 and ASP.NET Core 1.0 hit GA

As promised, the cross-platform .NET deliverables (runtimes and libraries pieces) hit GA on June 27. MS tied the announcements to Red Hat Summit, where SQL Server on RHEL was demonstrated, as well.

Codename pick of the week: Seville

From the codename vault, today’s pick is the codename for Windows 10 Defender Advanced Threat Protection: Seville. Reason for the pick: ATP is going to arrive as part of the Anniversary Update. (MS was unsure if it would make it into this release or RS2)

Beer pick of the week: Edge Brewing Padrino

In honor of the Edge browser, here’s a pick from Edge Brewing, a craft brewery in Barcelona (that might still be on tap at Rattle West later today). It’s a roasty porter: http://edgebrewing.com/beer/padrino/
