Paul/Brad – Check this listing on Amazon. It is listing "OLD VERSION" for Surface Book and Surface Pro 4. I think this points to updated versions (but not SB2/SP5) to be announced at the Oct MS event.

Microsoft Surface Book (128 GB, 8 GB RAM, Intel Core i5) (OLD VERSION)

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 (128 GB, 4 GB RAM, Intel Core i5) (OLD VERSION)

PT’s take on the Nexdock is dead-on, doesn’t come with USB-C capability and the build quality is disappointingly poor. It’s got an odd and seemingly random array of cables included, none of which were of use to me, at least not without some jury-rigging and resulting touchpad lag. The pending HP dock for use with their x3 looks to be a much better design and has a higher build quality. I will fiddle around with it still, just to see how good the display is. I am interested in the Lenovo Yoga Book with Windows, though. Lenovo has approached the stylus/handwriting issue in a more thoughtful manner than Microsoft’s afterthought approach.

I will never forget what my Latin/English teacher said. Say the word three times, write the word three times, and write it in a sentence three times and the word is your forever. Even typing transcriptions or recording, and then outlining with pen and paper is the best way for many people to retain what was said. This might even work for something like that

I think Microsoft could get a good start with a $50 streaming stick by incorporating Xbox One game streaming (from an existing Xbox One console). It would be a good way to differentiate from the Roku and Chromecast as well as tap into an existing user base.

Your comments about the Surface Book being too large and the Yoga Book being too small for note taking suggest that perhaps Microsoft should update the Surface 3.
