  <p> I tend to agree more with what Paul says than what he writes :)</p><p>You guys never said the words "technological marketing stunt" referring to Hololens or the Mixed Reality stuff, but in part it is. Like the Google Glasses were and many others. In the long and futurist run we can see that these tools will solve problems, but as it stands it hardly provides anything of value. I think in many ways this is a reflection or a reaction to what SJ described as the Post PC era. Not so much to solve problems, but to be perceived by others as solving problems, to be perceived as very innovative, to be in and in turn give a sense of assurance to people that they know what they are doing, so investing on a PC or Google is perceived as a good problem. Its not totally vaporware but its very very close. It is not, because people will actually spend money in this stuff, like they spend on Kinect and some in Google Glasses … so on and so forth.</p><p>On another note the name Creators Update is chosen to create the perception that this update is focused on providing a toolset of matured tools to solve Creator problems. But as said, if we actually look at it, very little is done to that matter in Windows 10</p><p>Yet the Surface Studio is for me the Desktop PC of the eminent future, not Windows 10 alone. The creators thing. But as it stand it creates other problems as the details necessary are not there yer to turn it into a successful tool even though the core stuff seams to be. Details that find perplexing as they seam so easy to solve in comparison to what they have already done. Once again showing the solution new problems within the realm of personal computing is not in software or in hardware but in the perfect and fluid combination of both.</p>

  <p>An Mixed Reality/AR app called Scopify is available on Android/iOS, for a few museums. It works at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, giving pre-set tours and additional information on the artifacts in several galleries. And it does what Paul mentioned, hit the barcode next to the T-Rex skeleton (and a few others), and see the animal come to 'flesh'.</p><p>There is an iPad in the gallery that lets you take a picture with the fleshed out dinosaur, and share it via several media platforms (some of the social kind).</p><p><br></p><p>Imraan</p>
