    Back in the day, CES didn't include PCs because they weren't considered consumer devices.

      Not sure why I was down-voted. I attended CES in the mid-eighties I'll bet the down-voter has never been there.

        If you were not around PCs in the 80s and early 90s you would not realize how rare they were in homes and that they were not that common in offices. Many office workers into the late 90s and early 00s did not know how to use a computer and did not have access to one at work or at home. That changed with the rise of the Internet.

    I was an early adopter of DVDs. At that time, you couldn't buy them anywhere except specially video stores like  Suncoast Motion Picture Company (where they had about 10 discs for sale) and you couldn't rent them anywhere.


    I imagine early adopters of always on 5G PCs will have a similar experience.
