Tips and picks

Tip of the week: Join the Halo Insider Program

Test Master Chief collection on both PC and Xbox!

App pick of the week: Castbox

I’ve chosen Castbox as my podcasting client. And if you’re not interested in a monthly subscription, you can get a one-time payment option by using the code premiumsub2iap in Personal > Redeem. $15.

Also: Firefox 66 blocks ALL auto-play content by default.

Enterprise pick of the week: Windows Defender Application Guard extensions for Chrome, Firefox

You get a sandbox, and you get a sandbox!

Also: A little more info on Windows 10 removing faulty updates (subject of my rant from last week)

Codename pick of the week: Zipline

Another week, another open-source code release from Microsoft. This time it’s ‘Project Zipline,’ Microsoft’s Azure data-compression algorithm and related hardware specs.

Beer pick of the week: BFM 225th Anniversary BA saison

Brasserie des Franches-Montagnes (BFM) has an excellent barrel aged saison that’s called the square root of 225 (which is 15, btw). It’s only 5% and is aged in Abbay de Saint bon Chien barrels for four months. It’s a really flavorful belgian saison made by the Swiss.

<p>Paul is my most trusted source for tech news. I love Windows Weekly and look forward to it more than other podcasts I listen to. With all respect to Mary Jo, I wish she would be more open minded to XBOX and "Fun" in general. XBOX is a great Microsoft product and I wish she would take an interest in it since this is "Windows Weekly." It is growing a little old when she dogs the XBOX segment every single time. </p>
