Tip of the week: Make a DIY Edgebook
Now that Microsoft Edge is available for Linux, you can install it on most Chromebooks and create a sort of DIY Edgebook! Just download the Debian version of Edge, open Files, right-click, and choose “Install to Linux.”
App pick of the week: Start11
Start11 exits beta and is ready to make Windows 11 whole. If you’re a Windows 11 user, this will be the best $5.99 you ever spent.
Enterprise pick of the week: SQL Server 2022
“The most Azure enabled version of SQL Server ever”! (even though it’s an on-prem product (?). Sounds almost like Azure Stack HCI. Which is probably intentional
And, speaking of databases: New Power Apps connector for Microsoft Access (preview)
Developer picks of the week: VS 2022, .NET 6 launches next week
.NET Conf and VS 2022 launches are virtual and free. Both are next week
Meanwhile, bye-bye Nat Friedman
Beer pick of the week: Finback Red Velvet (barrel aged)
Finback Brooklyn has brewed a stout with chocolate, vanilla and cream cheese and aged it in bourbon barrels. The name fits: Red Velvet. It is sooo rich and very bourbony.
November 4 is international stout day!
