Lenovo Offers an Alexa-Powered Smart Clock

Lenovo has sold Google Assistant-powered smart home devices for years, but now it is offering an Alexa-powered smart clock as well.

“The Lenovo Smart Clock Essential with Alexa Built-In is positioned as the ultimate smart clock and smart speaker for any room,” Lenovo notes of the device. “From setting timers, alarms, and reminders, Alexa is there to help add items to your Amazon cart and even control your smart home with just your voice. It works great as a standalone smart clock and, of course, can be integrated with a larger smart home ecosystem.”

Lenovo launched its first—Google-powered—smart clock in 2019, and it followed up that up with a second model, the Smart Clock 2, in September 2021 that offered a detachable wireless charging dock. The new Lenovo Smart Clock Essential with Alexa Built-In looks similar, but a bit more low-end, and there’s no dock. It offers a 4-inch non-touch monochrome LED display, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1, basic buttons for interaction, a microphone, and a speaker, and it comes in two colors: Clay Red and Misty Blue.

The good news? It only costs $49.99. You can learn more on the Lenovo website.

I would love for Apple to release a product similar to this in their HomePod line.

The display must go super dim at night so as to not light up the room, My Alexa with digital clock is too bright.
