Samsung today announced that its Galaxy Fit 3 smart wearable is finally coming to the United States, one year after it launched elsewhere. The firm also announced the budget-priced Galaxy A16 5G smartphone, which delivers an upgraded design, a bigger display, and improved cameras, and you can save some money if you buy both devices together.
I have a Galaxy Fit 3–I purchased it when Samsung announced it globally last year–and it’s a near perfect combination of usability and longevity with its large, bright, color display and week-long battery life, especially for those who don’t need the complexity of a full-featured smartwatch. The only thing holding it back is Samsung, and, at the time, its lack of US availability. (I wrote a bit about this device in my Google Pixel Watch 3 First Impressions post last fall.)
“Galaxy Fit3 is designed with an aluminum body and 1.6-inch display, 45 percent wider than the previous model, making it easier to check detailed insights right from your wrist,” Samsung explains. “It’s lightweight and comfortable with battery life up to 13 days, making it perfect for daily, around-the-clock use.” The device tracks over 100 types of workouts, sleep patterns, snoring, and blood oxygen levels, and it has an IP68 water and dust rating, Fall Detection, and Emergency SOS capabilities.
The Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 starts at $59.99 and comes in Gray, Silver, and Pink Gold colors. It starts shipping in the US on January 9.

As for the Galaxy A16 5G, this new A-series phone offers a larger 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 90 Hz refresh rate, smaller bezels and a thinner body than its predecessor. The camera system includes a 50 MP main lens, a 5 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2 MP macro lens, plus a 13 MP front-facing selfie camera. It’s powered by the Exynos 1330 processor and sports a 5000 mAh battery with 25-watt fast charging. But perhaps most impressively, the phone will 6 generations of One UI, Android OS, and security updates.
The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G starts at just $199, comes in Blue Black and Light Gray colors, and starts shipping in January 9.
