Google Releases Wear OS 7

Google released Wear OS 7 for supported smartwatches today alongside Android 17 and the June 2026 Pixel Drop.

“Wear OS 7, which is rolling out to eligible Pixel Watch devices today, provides a reliable platform for that all-day, every-day use,” Google Watch Software senior director and general manager Tyler Gore writes. “And select devices will get Gemini Intelligence features later this year.”

Here’s what’s new in Wear OS 7:

Live Updates. This feature lets you track sports scores, food delivery status, workout progress, and other ongoing events directly on your wrist in real time with glanceable information.

Connected device control. Wear OS 7 integrates your watch with supported earbuds, headphones, home speakers, and other devices–including, this fall, intelligent eyewear–so you can manage media, switch audio between devices, review photo captures and more by glancing at your wrist.

Gemini Intelligence. Coming later this year, select Wear OS 7 devices will get Neural Expressive design-based Gemini Intelligence features like Create My Widget for building custom dashboards and Personal Intelligence for connecting with Gmail, Search, Messages, and other Google apps.

Power optimizations. Thanks to some low-level improvements, Wear OS 7 will deliver up to 10 percent better battery life on the same device.
