Images of Google’s New Fitbit Edge Leak

Google Fitbit

After launching its $99 screenless Fitbit Air in May, a new midrange Fitbit device with a screen has leaked, and it’s called the Fitbit Edge. Android Headlines obtained a series of marketing images for the new device, which is expected to replace the $159.99 Fitbit Charge from 2023.

As previously reported by 9to5Google, the company had already teased the Fitbit Edge in some promotional images for the Pixel 11 series. Well, the new marketing images shared by Android Headlines show the new fitness band in greater detail, with an oval display showing heart rate data, a step counter, and another button for quickly starting a workout.

A comparison image shows that the Fitbit Edge will be able to display phone notifications, just like the Fitbit Charge. It will also support a limited set of apps such as Google Maps, YouTube Music, and Find My Phone. Additionally, the device will offer up to seven days of battery life, just like the screenless Fitbit Air (which lacks a built-in GPS).

Android Headlines believes that the Fitbit Edge may launch as soon as this month ahead of the holiday shopping season. It remains to be seen if the new Fitness device will be priced similarly to the current Fitbit Charge, though the ongoing memory and storage crisis may well make that difficult. Google’s freshly released Pixel Watch 5 was already $50 more expensive at launch than its predecessor.
