Microsoft Releases Windows 11 Insider Build 25126

Microsoft has just released the Windows 11 preview build 25126 for Insiders in the Dev Channel. Even though Microsoft’s annual Build conference is still ongoing, today’s build 25126 includes no flashy new features, and the most notable changes include improvements to the account settings page.

Starting with this build, some Dev Channel Insiders will be able to see all supported Office products associated with their accounts such as Office 365, Office 2021, and Office 2019. By clicking on the “View Details” button, Insiders will also be able to download Office if they haven’t already done so.

These new account settings improvements will only roll out to a subset of Dev Channel Insiders for now. They follow the previous addition of Microsoft 365 subscription details to the Settings > Accounts page back in the Windows 11 preview build 22489 from October.

Today’s build 25126 also brings various fixes for the Start Menu, Windows Search, Task Manager, Windows Sandbox, and more. Microsoft also fixed an issue that was causing the Program Compatibility Assistant Service to use an excessive amount of CPU resources in the previous build.

In case you missed it, Microsoft did announce some upcoming Windows 11 features on the first day of its Build conference yesterday. The Microsoft Store will add support for a “Restore Apps” capability that will make it easy to re-download all the apps you use on a new Windows 11 PC. Last but not least, Windows Insiders will soon be able to use Windows Search to find Microsoft Store apps without having to open the actual Microsoft Store app.
