Microsoft Ships New Windows 11 Build and App Updates to Insiders

Microsoft has just released the Windows 11 preview build 25182 for Insiders on the Dev Channel. This build brings various bug fixes for the OS, but there are no new features this time around.

Among the most notable bug fixes, Microsoft has addressed an issue causing some Insiders to encounter performance issues when playing some games due to the wrong graphics card being used. Microsoft has also fixed an issue causing some Insiders to see bugchecks when opening and copying files from network locations.

In addition to this new build, Microsoft is also rolling out two app updates to all Insiders on the Dev Channel today. The first one is for the Windows 11 Camera app, which is getting native ARM64 support on devices such as Microsoft’s Surface Pro X.

This new update also brings privacy shutter support for webcams and PCs that support that. “If the shutter is blocking the view or if the laptop lid is closed, Camera app will inform you and offer guidance,” the Windows Insider team explained.

Lastly, a new update for the Microsoft Store is rolling out to all Dev Channel Insiders. The new bits bring the ability to install games directly from the store without having to switch to the Xbox app. Moreover, it’s now possible to view app screenshots right from search results.

That’s it for today’s update for Dev Channel Insiders. If you install today’s Windows 11 build 25182, the Windows Insider team also highlighted that it comes with a new expiration date, September 15, 2023. “It is recommended Insiders update to this build to avoid build expiration notices,” the team said.
