Microsoft has just released new Windows 11 preview builds for Insiders on the Dev and Beta Channel. The Windows 11 build 25211 for Dev Channel testers brings some improvements based on Insider feedback, including a new context menu when right-clicking on the taskbar.
This context menu will show links to Task Manager and taskbar settings. With this build, some Insiders who previously got to test the new rounded focus and hover treatment on system tray icons will also be able to rearrange them as they want. “Further improvements for this experience are coming soon,” the Windows Insider team said today.
The other new feature in the Windows 11 build 25211 is a new settings experience for Widgets. Insiders now need to click on their profile picture at the top right of the board to access Widgets settings, and the widget picker can now be opened by clicking on the “+” button.
Microsoft is also rolling a new update for Snipping Tool to all Insiders today. The app will now automatically save your screenshots to the Screenshots folder inside Pictures, though you can turn this feature off in settings.
Microsoft also released today the Windows 11 preview builds 22621.730 and 22623.730 to Beta Channel testers. These new builds bring back the tablet-optimized taskbar to both groups of Beta testers, and it also enables the rounded focus and hover treatment on all icons in the system tray for some Insiders. Please note that it’s currently not possible to drag and drop or rearrange system tray icons with this change.
