Google Play Games for PC Beta Expands to the US, Canada, and 6 More Countries

The Google Play Games for PC beta that kicked off earlier this year is finally expanding to more markets. Starting today, Windows users in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore can download the Google Play Games beta and play dozens of Android games on their PC.

Google Play Games for PC initially launched in closed beta in January, and at the time it was only available in Hong Kong, South Korea, and Taiwan. In August, Google made the Windows app available as an open beta in the same 3 markets plus Thailand and Australia.

“In the last few months, our Google Play Games catalog growth has been accelerating with many popular mobile titles including 1945 Air Force, Blade Idle, Cookie Run: Kingdom, and Evony: The King’s Return,” wrote Arjun Dayal, Director, Google Play Games. Beta testers can sync their progress with their Android phone or tablet, and select games also support keyboard and mouse input.

Back in August, Google also reduced the minimum specs for trying the Google Play Games Beta on PC. Now, testers just need a PC with Windows 10 version 2004 or newer, a quad-core CPU with an integrated graphics card, 8GB of RAM, and 10GB of SSD storage. You also need to have hardware virtualization turned on for the Android games to run on Windows.

If you’re living in one of the eligible markets, you can download the Google Play Games for PC client on this page. “As we move towards a full release, we will continue to add new features and evaluate developer and player feedback,” Dayal said today.
