Microsoft Releases New Windows 11 Insider Builds for the Beta Channel

Microsoft has released today the Windows 11 Insider builds 22621.1465 and 22624.1465 for Beta channel testers. As usual, there’s one build for the sub-group of testers getting new features, and another one for the other group with new features off by default.

The new features in the build 22624.1465 were previously made available for the Insiders on the Dev and the new Canary channel. The additions include live captions in more languages, new touch keyboard settings, and a multi-app Kiosk Mode that IT pros can enable for devices used by frontline workers or students.

Japanese is one of the new supported languages for live captions.

The Windows 11 build 22624.146 also brings a new VPN status icon in the system tray area of the taskbar, which will appear when a user connects to a recognized VPN profile. Lastly, Microsoft has updated the new in-app help page in voice access to include all commands and additional information about them.

In case you’re wondering, the Windows Insider team said that there won’t be any new builds for the Canary and Dev channels this week. Last week, Microsoft introduced new access key shortcuts in the context menu of File Explorer on these two channels.
