Microsoft Tests Option to Show Seconds in the Windows 11 System Tray Clock

Microsoft has released today the Windows 11 build 23419 for Insiders on the Dev Channel. This is the second build coming to the “rebooted” Dev channel after Microsoft automatically moved all Dev Channel Insiders to the new Canary channel earlier this month.

Live kernel memory dumps (LKDs) in Task Manager: App developers can now use Task Manager to capture an LKD to troubleshoot any issues with their apps. This feature was previously rolled out in the build 25276 released back in January.

USB4 Settings page: This new page will provide more options and information about attached peripherals on devices with USB4 ports.

Seconds in the system tray clock: In Personalization > Taskbar, a subset of Insiders can now choose to show seconds in the system tray clock (this option uses more battery though).

Changes to app defaults: Applications can now take users directly to the appropriate location in Settings to change their defaults.

“For You” section in Start Menu: A subset of Insiders will see the “Recommended” section of the Start Menu being changed to “For you”

Glanceable VPN status in the taskbar: This VPN status icon now uses the system accent color.

Microsoft says that it has also made changes to improve the experience after booting up by reducing the performance impact of startup apps. That’s it for the biggest changes included in this build, be aware that you can download ISOs on Microsoft’s website if you want to do a clean install.
