Phone Link for iOS is Now Available for All Windows 11 Users

Phone Link for iOS

Microsoft’s Phone Link app for Windows 11 can now connect to all iPhones running iOS 14 and newer. Microsoft started rolling out Phone Link for iOS last month, but the new iPhone support is available for all Windows 11 users in 85 markets starting today.

Phone Link for iOS allows iPhone users to send and receive text messages, make and receive phone calls, and see contacts and iPhone notifications right from a Windows 11 PC. The app requires a Bluetooth connection to connect to iPhones, and iPads are not supported.

Compared to the way Phone Link integrates with Android phones, Phone Link for iOS is quite limited. Image/video sharing and group messaging are not supported, and users also can’t see their latest iPhone photos and videos within the app. As a workaround, iPhone users can install the iCloud for Windows app and take advantage of the iCloud Photo Library integration in the Windows 11 Photos app.

Phone Link for iOS also doesn’t let users access their iPhone apps from their Windows 11 PC, which is something that Android users can do. However, if you’d like to use text messages and phone calls without pulling your iPhone out of your pocket, Phone Link has you covered.

To get started with Phone Link, you should make sure that you’ve downloaded the latest version of the app from the Microsoft Store. In the app, you’ll need to scan a QR code with your iPhone to initiate Bluetooth pairing, then you’ll need to grant permissions on your iPhone to sync messages, contacts, and notifications on your PC. You can learn more about how to set up the app on this support page.
