Following a week with no new Insider flights, Microsoft has just released the Windows 11 Insider build 25905 on the Canary channel. This new build brings several features that were previously introduced on the Dev Channel to the Canary channel such as Dev Drive and the new Windows Backup app, Dynamic Lighting settings for devices with RGB lights, as well as a new Gallery view in File explorer.
With the release of this new build, Microsoft is also expanding its work to rewrite parts of the Windows kernel with the Rust programming language. The first Rust code in the Windows 11 kernel started rolling out to Insiders earlier this year, and Microsoft is now running another “small trial” to increase the usage of Rust in the kernel.

Starting with today’s Windows 11 Insider build 25905, Microsoft is also removing support for Arm32 UWP applications on Windows on ARM. “After the OS upgrade, any installed Arm32 applications will no longer launch on your device,” the Windows Insider team explained.
The 3D emoji that are available in Microsoft Teams are also coming to Windows 11 in this build. These new 3D emoji will soon be supported in some apps and web browsers, the Windows Insider team said.
For IT Pros, today’s build also improves the new Post Authentication Actions feature (PAA) in the native version of Windows LAPS. A new option described as “Reset the password, logoff the managed account, and terminate any remaining processes” has been added to the PostAuthenticationActions Group Policy.
This is some unexpected fan service, but this build includes a fix for an issue that was preventing the original Zune drivers to install on Windows 11. Microsoft is aware that its discontinued Zune media players still have a fanbase after all these years, and this fix will eventually roll out to all Windows 11 users.
Last but not least, Microsoft acknowledged two known issues with this build: There’s a compatibility issue with Asus devices or PCs with Asus motherboards, so this build won’t be available on these devices. Additionally, some users on Ethernet-connected devices may lose network connectivity after installing this build, but unplugging and re-plugging the Ethernet cable should do the trick.
