Microsoft Releases August Patch Tuesday Updates for Windows PCs

Windows 11

Microsoft has released today the August Patch Tuesday updates for Windows 11 and Windows 10. After the July Patch Tuesday updates brought the new “Moment 3” features to all Windows 11 users running the version 22H2 of the OS, this month’s updates are pretty light.

The KB5029253 patch is now available for Windows 11 version 22H2. In addition to security fixes, this update includes various quality improvements. Brightness settings should now be more accurate, and Microsoft also addressed an issue causing widgets to unpin from the taskbar.

For Windows 10 users, today’s KB5029244 patch also brings security updates and quality improvements. Microsoft fixed an issue causing certain display and audio devices to appear as missing after your system resumes from sleep. This patch also addressed an issue that might cause some VPN clients to not establish a connection.

In other Windows-related news, Microsoft recently announced that the upcoming Windows 11 version 23H2 will be released later this fall as an enablement package. Windows Insiders on the Beta channel are currently testing this update, and the new Windows Copilot AI assistant is one of the latest new features that recently made its way to this channel.
