Windows 11 Canary Build 27868 is Now Available

Windows 11 PC

Windows Insiders on the Canary Channel can download the Windows 11 preview build 27868 today. New flights on this channel are usually light on new features, and today’s build only introduces a new Voice Access feature and a couple of bug fixes.

The Voice Access accessibility feature is getting a new in-app experience designed to help users discover new features such as enhanced speech capabilities and extended language support. This new experience can be accessed and dismissed from the app’s settings menu.

The Windows 11 Canary build 27868 also fixes a bug that was causing pen input to be non-responsive on some PCs that support pen for inking. Microsoft also addressed another issue that was preventing users from launching apps like Spotify or installing them from the Microsoft Store in the previous flight.

For Insiders using virtualization apps like VMware on their PCs, Microsoft acknowledged that they will now fail to run when Virtualization-Based Security (VBS) is enabled. The current workaround is to manually install the “Windows Hypervisor Platform” optional Windows component, which was previously not required.

Microsoft has yet to release new preview builds for other Insider channels this week. However, the May optional patches for Windows 11 versions 24H2, 23H2, and 22H2 are now available for non-Insiders.
