Back in October, Microsoft announced that it would be restructuring its MVP program and today we are learning how that impacts the consumer brands, specifically Windows and Devices for consumers.
Microsoft has announced a new Windows Insider MVP program that will initially be composed of existing MVPs from the old program but they will be opening up the organization to new members in early 2017. The goal of the Insider MVP program is to allow Microsoft to work closer with influential people in the community to help shape Windows and new devices.

That being said, the post does leave a lot of room for expansion on what this program actually means. While it says they will work closely with the new members, the Insider MVP program is being run by the Insider team, how exactly they will provide feedback is not clear and if they will be included in the annual MVP summit is not mentioned.
For those of you who are in the Insider program, this new program is a way to contribute further to the development of Windows. As to how you get selected, the logical conclusion is by being highly active in the community and making sure your voice is heard among the millions who participate in the Slow and Fast rings.
