Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25120 Heads to the Dev Channel

Microsoft released Windows 11 Insider Preview build 25120 to the Dev channel today, adding a single new “conceptual feature.” In more good news, those with Windows on ARM-based PCs can update to this build too.

“Windows Insiders who use the Dev Channel may get to try out new ideas, longer lead features, and experiences that are intended to help validate concepts,” Microsoft explains. “Starting with this preview build, some Insiders will see one of these conceptual features as we begin to explore exposing lightweight interactive content on the Windows desktop. Today, Windows exposes this type of content in the Widgets board. To begin assessing this general idea and interaction model, the first exploration in this area adds a search box displayed on the desktop that enables you to search the web.”

The best news here? If you would like to remove this search box, you can do so. Just right-click the desktop, choose “Show more options” and then “Show search.”

You can also download ISOs of this build if you’d like.

....with this preview build, some Insiders will see....

Again, A/B testing. Pointless doing Dev Channel. This is the reason I gave up on Insider Builds and have almost given up on Windows itself. Enjoy if you still persevere, though!
