Microsoft Adds Three More Tools to PowerToys

Microsoft released PowerToys 0.62 today, but the big surprise is the addition of three new tools, er, toys.

As you may know, PowerToys is a free set of useful utilities, made by Microsoft and the community for Windows 10 and 11. Existing tools include Always On Top, Awake, Color Picker, FancyZones, Image Resizer, Keyboard Manager, PowerRename, PowerToys Run, Shortcut Guide, Video Conference Mute, and various File Explorer add-ons and mouse utilities.

New tools include:

Screen Ruler. A quick and easy way to measure pixels on your screen.

Quick Accent. An easy way to write letters with accents.

Text Extractor. A way to copy the text out of a selected region using OCR and place it in the Clipboard.

PowerToys 0.62 is available now from GitHub and the Microsoft Store. (I just installed the Store version, and it notes that it is version 0.62 and that there are three new tools, but I don’t see them in the app user interface.)
