Windows 11 Moment 3 Heads to the Release Preview Channel

Two weeks ago, Microsoft released the initial version of the “Moment 3” update for Windows 11 version 22H2. But now it is prepping a more complete version by shipping it to the Windows Insider Program’s Release Preview channel. I think.

Confused? This is my life now.

“As part of this update, we are enabling the new features and enhancements that began gradually rolling out last month,” Microsoft writes in its only acknowledgment of this staggered release. So what the heck was the KB502723 update that arrived in Windows Update two weeks ago? I assume it was just a Controlled Feature Release (CFR)—or perhaps a set of CFRs given the inconsistency with which everyone received the new features—in advance of next month’s final and more complete release.

Given this, we can further assume that a preview update will appear in Windows Update next week, on Tuesday, June 27. And that the final release of Moment 3 will then appear in Windows Update two weeks after that, on Patch Tuesday, July 11.

This company makes me insane. And I will not discuss this nonsense any further.
