New hover behavior on the Search box. Now, when you hover the Search box on the Taskbar, the search flyout box will appear by default. You can configure this behavior in Taskbar settings in the Settings app.

New app defaults behavior. This build introduces the very minor new app defaults behaviors that Microsoft started testing with Insiders back in March. That is, apps will be able to direct users to the correct location in Settings where they can configure various file types to open in a particular app one at a time, and apps can now create primary and secondary pins on the Taskbar with the user’s confirmation.

New “Enable optional updates” policy for managed businesses. Administrators can use this policy to configure monthly, optional cumulative updates and Controlled Feature Rollouts (CFRs). You can learn more here.

Beyond those, it’s just reliability, quality, and security fixes. The final version of this update will rollout broadly on Tuesday, September 12.
