Stardock Launches Object Desktop Insider Program, Will Bring Start11, Fences, and Groupy to Arm

Stardock Object Desktop Insider

Stardock today announced its Object Desktop Insider program, allowing fans to test pre-release versions of new apps and features ahead of public releases.

“The new Insider feature is launching today with three applications with support for Arm devices,” the announcement post explains. “Start11 v2, Fences 5, and Groupy 2 for Arm builds are now available in the Object Desktop Manager application as well as from your Downloads dashboard when you log in to your account. Support for Arm devices is a big step forward for Stardock and with Microsoft once again placing a big emphasis on the upcoming release of Windows that also supports new Arm chips, we wanted to make sure our applications are available where our customers are headed.”

A couple of interrelated caveats here: Object Desktop Insider is available only to paying Object Desktop customers, and the Arm versions of Start 11, Fences, and Groupy 2 are currently limited to Object Desktop Insider. That is, you can’t yet get them outside the program. But Stardock notes that native Arm support will be part of the general release versions of these apps in the future. And perhaps for other Stardock apps as well.

Aside from Arm support, Stardock is also experimenting with a new application that gives Object Desktop members access to AI tools that support multiple services without requiring individual sign-ins. There isn’t much detail on this yet, but the company says that it will come to Insiders in the coming months.
