Microsoft Delivers January Preview Updates for Windows 10, 11

Someday, Microsoft will fix this

Windows 10 and 11 users interested in a peek at the new features coming to the system in February can now install the preview versions via Windows Update.

Here’s what’s new.

Windows 10 version 22H2

Windows 10 users can install KB5050081 to upgrade the OS to build 19045.5436. This build includes the new Outlook app to replace the now-deprecated and long out-of-date Mail, Calendar, and People apps. There are also fixes for Snipping Tool, digital/analog converters, USB audio devices, and USB cameras.

Windows 11 version 24H2

Those on the latest Windows version can install KB5050094 to upgrade to OS build 26100.3037. This update adds several new features and improvements, including Taskbar previews improvements, a Windows Studio Effects icon in the system tray, and a new simplified Chinese font, plus fixes for File Explorer, the ability to change the time zone without admin access, a fix for the mouse cursor disappearing that’s been bugging me for months, HDR fixes, the DAC and USB audio updates noted above, a passkey fix, and a lot more.

There’s nothing for Windows 11 version 23H2.
