I literally just wrote a 6,000 word post detailing, among other things, all the features Microsoft is testing in, but never released, for Windows 11. I did this because there is no way to keep track of it otherwise. Except that now there is, at least to some degree.
I almost feel like they’re paying attention. Almost.
“The Windows roadmap provides estimated release dates and descriptions for features being released,” the Windows Roadmap page on the Microsoft website notes. “Some features and applications may not be available in all regions or all languages. As a feature or product release is postponed or canceled, information will be updated on this website.”
Granted, the site is woefully incomplete. Where I identified over a dozen Windows 11 version 24H2 features that are still being tested in the Dev channel of the Windows Insider Program, this site claims there are only five: Recall, Click to Do, third-party widget support, Administrator protection, and “Your account” cards in Settings for managed PCs. And based on the URL, this is apparently only for “business” features.
Still, I’m delighted to see something official, especially given how horribly this team normally communicates.
