Microsoft today announced the new Spring Update for Xbox One, first rolling out to Xbox Insiders. The upcoming update for the Xbox One brings a bunch of new features, combined with the usual enhancements.

The main highlight of the Spring Update is support for 1440p on the Xbox One X and One S. As promised, Microsoft is bringing 1440p support to these consoles for those who don’t have a 4K monitor but still want to take advantage of the power on consoles like the Xbox One X.

Another really intriguing addition being introduced with the Spring Update is the new Share Controller feature for Mixer streams. Microsoft is taking its interactive streaming platform Mixer to the next level by adding the ability to let streamers share their controller with their viewers, so a viewer can practically play the gamer’s game without having physical access to the controller. This feature could turn out to be a huge hit and a good source of revenue for streamers looking to set new donation tiers to let their loyal viewers take part in the gameplay.

Microsoft is also introducing a new and updated Microsoft Edge browser with new features, ability to automatically balance out background music and game music volume, and a couple of new feed and Clubs features with the Spring Update. If you are an Xbox Insider in the Alpha ring, you can grab the features right away.
