Microsoft Flights New Windows 11 Insider Builds On the Dev and Beta Channels

Windows 11 PCs

Microsoft has released two new Windows 11 Insiders builds for testers on the Dev and Beta Channel today. The Dev build 26120.1350 follows the release of the build 26120.1340 on Monday, and it brings the ability to easily share content to an Android device connected via Link to Windows from the Windows share window.

With this build, Microsoft is also testing another change to make the installation of MSIX packages more secure. When installing these packages either locally or via the web, users will now see a Microsoft SmartScreen pop-up to verify if the MSIX package is safe to install.

For Insiders on the Beta Channel, today’s build 22635.4010 brings back the more simplified system tray with shortened form data and time and no notification bell icon that began rolling out with the build 22635.3930. Microsoft had temporarily disabled it to fix some issues with this new experience.

In the Beta build 22635.4000 released two weeks ago, Microsoft also introduced a change to the taskbar, which now shows jump lists when Insiders hover their mouse cursor over apps on the taskbar that have jump lists and are inactive. With today’s build 22635.4010, Microsoft is adding a new option to turn off this change in the “Taskbar behaviors” menu.

Earlier this week, Microsoft also released a new Microsoft Store update for Insiders on the Dev and Canary channels. This update introduces a redesigned library page, a new page for updates and downloads (with release notes), and limited-time events for select games.
