Google announced today that it’s making the Gemini integration in its Chrome browser available in India, New Zealand, and Canada. The company is also rolling out support for more than 50 new languages, including Hindi, French, and Spanish.
Gemini in Chrome for Mac and Windows users first launched in the US back in September, and the iOS integration arrived in December. There’s no word yet on when Gemini will be integrated into the Android version of Chrome, however. In the meantime, Android users can just access Gemini when using Chrome and other apps by holding the power button of their device.
This new Gemini AI integration allows Chrome users to start a conversation with the chatbot, summarize web pages, compare information across pages, and even complete multi-step actions on their behalf. With your permission, Gemini in Chrome can also connect to other Google apps and summarize emails in Gmail, add items to Google Tasks, and create events in Google Calendar.
On the desktop, Chrome users can share up to 10 open tabs with Gemini, which can then work across multiple open tabs. Gemini in Chrome can also use Google’s Nano Banana 2 model to easily transform images in the current browser window.
Google said today that it will be adding more AI capabilities to Gemini in Chrome and expanding the integration to more regions and languages soon. For users with a work or school Google Account, access to Gemini in Chrome must be enabled by an administrator.
