Adobe Firefly Gets New AI Video Creation Tools and Models

Adobe announced a major update to its Firefly AI platform, with new tools and other capabilities for video creation. Key among them is a full beta of the Firefly video editor, video upscaling functionality, and an expansion of Firefly video and image generation for customers.

“Our goal with Adobe Firefly is to give you one place where you can choose the right industry-leading model to generate assets for your project, then get exactly what you want by editing those assets with the creative tools and controls Firefly offers,” Adobe’s Mike Polner writes. “Today, we’re bringing you new tools and capabilities that give you even more control and choice in the way you generate video.”

Here’s what’s new.

Firefly AI video editor in full beta. The Firefly AI video editor is a web-based video editing workspace that can create videos with generative AI and help you make edits using natural language. It offers Prompt to Edit controls, a standard timeline-based interface, sound effects and music, camera motion reference capabilities, and further editing in the Premiere desktop app.

Video upscaling. Thanks to a partnership with Topaz Labs, Firefly users can access the Astra AI model to upscale video to Full HD (1080p) or 4K.

Unlimited generations through January 15. Adobe is expanding its offer for unlimited generations with the Firefly video model and all Firefly and partner image models until January 15. So anyone with a Firefly Pro, Firefly Premium, 7,000-credit, or 50,000-credit plan can create freely for the next month with any compatible model, including Google Nano Banana Pro.

You can learn more and try out the new features on the Adobe Firefly website.
